A beautiful stroll through one of the wildest valleys of Val d'Aran, where at one point there were 9 inhabited areas of which 4 are habited year round. The trails were once used as the main and fastest route of smuggling for the minerals which were pulled out from the Liat Mines at 2300 meters of altitude and trasported along an aerial cable line 14 km long to Pontaut in France.

A journey rich in vegatation where the ash, oak, maple, cherry or lime trees abound . One will also see many bushes such as the brooms, blackberry, fern, blackthorn or wild roses while hiking through the villages of Porcingles, and Caneja Pontaut.

Its starting point is in Porcingles. Follow the GR-211 indicator towards the beautiful village of Caneja, where we recommend a visit to the village and the veranda, with panoramic views over the Era Lana de Les and the Maladeta mountain range.

Our guides will explain you how to hike this route easy to enjoy with the family the nature and the nice hiking trails in the valley of Aran. The tour is often included in the hotel´s activity programm.
