The Sauth deth Pish is an impressive waterfall of 35 meters, which is accessed by car 12 km from the roundabout of Pont d'Arròs on the asphalted road.
Throughout the hike in the Val de Varradòs you are accompanied by the waters that run through the valleys and ravines along with the incredible beech and fir tree forests. There are remnants of avalanches that have cut off road access during the winter. In the Artiga de Varradòs , the filels act as amphitheatre for the majestic Maladeta mountain range and the highest peak of the Pyrenees, the Aneto (3.404m), and invite a stop to contemplate the surrondings.
Once you have arrived, the area is of extraordinary beauty: the lake, the forest, the refuge, and the waterfall together seem to make up the components of an ideal painting. The itinerary starts in the car park of the Plan des Artiguetes. After crossing a wooden bridge, you reach the waterfall that is fitted with hand rails. The route continues between the waterfall and the refuge where you can take a trail uphill with multiple switchbacks (zig-zags).
