Canyoning is another of the mountain recreational and sports activities that we organise from the Himàlaia hotels. This consists of descending a gorge, with the aid of ropes, abseiling, sledges, waterfalls, handrails and a specialist guide who will be constantly at your side. All this, and your enthusiasm for living a tremendous experience, will ensure that you enjoy this water sport in the heart of Nature, with suitable guarantees for your safety. Success is assured. Whether this is your first time or you already have experience, we offer you the possibility of experiencing various ravines specially chosen to suit all levels and needs.

This exciting activity of Canyoning takes place both in the Aran Valley and the neighbouring area of the Alta Ribagorça in Catalonia.  Both locations offer formidable high mountain gorges with water canyons, large water jumps (up to 12 metres), toboggans, abseils (up to 40 metres) and large waterfalls where you can fully enjoy his activity in a very wet and fun environment.  Gorges such as the one in Bausen (beginners) in the Aran Valley and the one in Viu de Llevata (advanced), close to the town of Pont de Suert, are two of our “favourites”.

Equipment required: comfortable clothes, sports shoes, a warm over-garment, sun cream, personal belongings, and camera or camcorder (recommended).
